"The Bridge" is a syndicated column by Darryl James,

the
author of "Bridging The Black Gender Gap,"
which is also the basis of a national lecture series. James was
awarded the 2004 Non-fiction Award for his book on the Los Angeles
Riots at the Seventh Annual Black History Month Book Fair and
Conference in Chicago. He founded the only Black-owned national rap
music publication, Rap Sheet in 1992. He can be reached via email at
djames@TheBlackGenderGap.com.
He doesn't care if you hate him. He probably doesn't like you, either.
What people are saying about "The Bridge"
"Whether
you agree with him or not, what we like about Darryl James is 1) he's
not
afraid to say it, 2) he doesn't back down when challenged, and 3) he
challenges
us to think too."

"The only word I have for you my brother is phenomenal. Your writing is
truly up lifting to me. I don't care what any one else thinks or says,
you're speaking the truth and most of our people I'm sad to say can't
handle it...WRITE ON MY BROTHER...PHENOMENAL THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE. "

"I truly enjoy reading your column weekly. If there were
billboards posted all around the world advertising what a real black
man looks, sounds, speaks, etc. like, you would be pictured."
Ella Dean
"Never has one man so eloquently expressed the true nature of what is
wrong with relationships between Black men and woman. I will
share your column with as many sistas as I can. Please keep up
the great work! You're not alone in this!"
Scott Ferguson
"I don't always agree with you, and that's a good thing, but you push
the envelope beyond the limits that keep us, as a community, stuck
inside the box - and that's even better. "
